NJBC Hosts Winning Campaigns!
ANNOUNCEMENT: The New Jersey Bicycle Coalition will host the Alliance for Biking and Walking's "Winning Campaigns" Training in Edison, NJ from June 4th - 6th. This training fociuses on: Issue Definition, Campaign Goals, Resources Assessment,
Strategy, Communication, Tactics/Timelines, and Resource Management. Our proven curriculum will help you choose, direct, and win campaigns to promote better conditions for biking and walking in your state, province, or local community.
The trainings are set up in peer-to-peer and group breakout sessions to improve communication and foster collaboration. Previous participants have won complete streets campaigns, Safe Routes to School campaigns, and bike safety campaigns at the state and local level. Trainers will be Jeff Miller, Executive Director and Dave Snyder, chief executive of Transportation for a Livable City.
Bicycle and Pedestrian advocates will learn:
- How to choose the right issue
- Set realistic but visionary goals, choose the best strategies and tactics, and stick to timelines
- Map out the power structure in your community, support and leverage allies, neutralize and convert enemies!
- Communicate effectively, reaching the right audience with the right message through the right media
- Raise money, to strengthen your organization for the next bigger victory!
